El artículo se propone abordar un aspecto de los años veinte y un contrapunto entre Borges y Arlt, comienzo sin duda arbitrario pero significativo pues condensa aspectos que es preciso recobrar. Borges inventa algo difícil de lograr en la literatura, una mirada diferente, cambio que se manifiesta en un nuevo interés por unos espacios que a veces llama paisaje, lo cual supone también una manera de concebir lo pintoresco donde se aúnan la rusticidad graciosa y simple y el deleite por lo pequeño, construyendo un paisaje que quedó en la literatura porque está dotado de cierto aura que, como diría Benjamin, no puede reducirse a una pura y simple fenomenología de la fascinación sino que es más bien una mirada obrada por el tiempo.
