This exploration is guided by a willingness to open a binational and interdisciplinary dialogue beatween researchers of the past and the contingent reality of indigenous peoples that coexist in very different nation states, like Chile and Bolivia.  En el presente artículo se propone desarrollar un camino de investigación, orientado a comprender la problemática caranga en relación al período prehispánico en el sur andino, su comportamiento en el período Colonial, así como algunos aspectos generales referidos a la expresión de patrones de continuidad hasta la actualidad. Todo ello guiado por la voluntad de abrir un diálogo interdisciplinario y binacional entre investigadores dedicados al pasado y a la realidad contingente de los pueblos indígenas que coexisten con Estados nacionales muy diversos, como lo son los de Chile y Bolivia.  Dans le présent article, on propose de développer une voie de recherche visant à mieux comprendre les problèmes Caranga par rapport à la période pré-hispanique dans les Andes du Sud, leur comportement pendant la période coloniale, ainsi que certains aspects généraux liés aux modes d’expression de la continuité jusqu’à aujourd’hui.
