To clarify the first, it uses a vast range of literary resources through which he reconstructs the concept of “inheritance” (biological, sociopolitical, historical, cultural), and reveals the discursive tensions that have shaped Colombian historical memory. For the second, it redefines the border between literature and history, and poses in a situation of discomfort with each of the fields that make up the oxymoron “historical novel.” La forma de las ruinas, de Juan Gabriel Vásquez, permite preguntarnos cómo la novela histórica colombiana de la última década aporta claves para la comprensión de la memoria colectiva y la historia de Colombia y, de paso, contribuye a la discusión sobre la concepción de tal género novelesco. Para esclarecer lo primero, acude a una vasta gama de recursos literarios mediante los cuales reconstruye el concepto de “herencia” (biológica, sociopolítica, histórica, cultural), y expone las tensiones discursivas que han dado forma a la memoria histórica colombiana. Para lo segundo, redefine la frontera entre literatura e historia, y se plantea en situación de incomodidad frente a cada uno de los campos que componen el oxímoron novela histórica. La forma de las ruinas, de Juan Gabriel Vásquez, permite perguntar como a novela histórica colombiana da última década fornece chaves para a compreensão da memória coletiva e da história da Colômbia e, aliás, contribui para a discussão sobre a concepção desse gênero ficcional. Para esclarecer o primeiro, ele usa uma vasta gama de recursos literários por meio dos quais reconstrói o conceito de “herança” (biológica, sociopolítica, histórica, cultural) e expõe as tensões discursivas que moldaram a memória histórica colombiana.
