Sumario:The examination of (auto)biographical ancient latin texts concerning emperor Augustus shows that these are not always coincident. Beyond political circumstances, the contrast between information leads us to think about representational task, specially, regarding such a famous figure. Besides, the analysis of these sources is related to discussion about value and position of biographical speech, in the context of ancient Greco-Roman culture.
