La observación de fuentes latinas antiguas relativas al emperador Augusto y de tono (auto)biográfico deja ver que éstas ofrecen una imagen del soberano no siempre convergente. Más allá de los escenarios políticos implicados, el contraste entre las informaciones proporcionadas nos conduce a reflexionar acerca de la misma labor representacional, máxime tratándose de una figura de ingente peso público.
