description In this paper we explore the possibilities that the second person perspective, a postcognitive theory of social cognition, offers to the psychology of music. In the first place, we will review the different conceptions of music that have shaped the classical ways of approaching this phenomenon in the field of music psychology, highlighting some of its limitations. Secondly, we will take the social character of music as a starting point and remark the role of the postcognitive revolution in music studies, as a prelude to a new theoretical perspective in this field. Thirdly, we will present the second-person perspective within the postcognitive framework of social cognition that will allow us to delve into the revolution embodied in these studies. Finally, we will explore the possibilities that this perspective offers for an alternative approach to the musical phenomenon and we will summarize some of the preliminary conclusions that can be drawn from the adoption of this second-person perspective for the study of musical practice.

En este trabajo exploraremos las posibilidades que la perspectiva de segunda persona, una teoría postcognitiva de la cognición social, le ofrece a la psicología de la música. En primer lugar, repasaremos las diferentes concepciones de la música que han dado forma a las maneras clásicas de abordar este fenómeno en el ámbito de la psicología de la música subrayando algunas de sus limitaciones. En segundo lugar, destacaremos el carácter social de la música y el papel de la revolución postcognitiva en los estudios de la música, como preludio a una nueva perspectiva teórica en este ámbito disciplinar. En tercer lugar, presentaremos la perspectiva de segunda persona dentro del marco postcognitivo de la cognición social que nos permitirá profundizar en la revolución corporizada en estos estudios. Finalmente, exploraremos las posibilidades que esta perspectiva ofrece para un abordaje alternativo del fenómeno musical y resumiremos algunas de las conclusiones preliminares que pueden extraerse de la adopción de esta perspectiva para el estudio de la práctica musical. Neste artigo, vamos explorar as possibilidades que a perspetiva da segunda pessoa (teoria pós-cognitiva da cognição social) oferece ao campo de estudo da psicologia da música. Em primeiro lugar, faremos uma revisão das diferentes conceções de música que moldaram as formas clássicas de abordagem desse fenômeno no campo da psicologia musical, destacando algumas limitações. Em segundo lugar, daremos ênfase ao caráter social da música e o papel da revolução pós-cognitiva nos estudos musicais, como um prelúdio para uma nova perspetiva teórica neste campo disciplinar. Em terceiro lugar, apresentaremos a perspetiva da segunda pessoa dentro da estrutura pós-cognitiva da cognição social, o que nos permitirá aprofundar a revolução incorporada nesses estudos.
