I28-R145-1008_oai2025-11-17 Romanos de Tiratel, Susana 2004-06-01 After a brief introduction to the research process and activities involved, the author makes a diagnosis very encouraging about the state of Library Science research activity in Argentina highlighting the following obstacles to full development: training does not give priority to research as an essential input for professional success and does not focus into the theoretical and interpretive problems, lack of a critical mass of researchers, ignorance of the steps to achieve balance between the problem and the most appropriate design to study it. Moreover, lists and describes the barriers to communication between practitioners and researchers and identifies five features related with the use of research in practice. The author concludes with a series of recommendations to reverse the dissociated trend between research and practice. Luego de una breve introducción al proceso de investigación y a las actividades involucradas, la autora hace un diagnóstico poco alentador respecto de la situación de la actividad investigativo-bibliotecológica en la Argentina resaltando los siguientes obstáculos para su desarrollo pleno: formación que no prioriza a la investigación como un insumo imprescindible para el éxito profesional ni profundiza en los problemas teórico-interpretativos, carencia de una masa crítica de investigadores, ignorancia de los pasos a seguir para lograr la consonancia entre el problema planteado y el diseño más adecuado para estudiarlo. Por otra parte, enumera y describe las barreras a la comunicación entre profesionales e investigadores e identifica cinco rasgos asociados con el uso de la investigación en la práctica.
