description This article problematizes the process by which schools are chosen among young people who are part of families of Bolivian origin and who currently reside in Argentina. Ethnographic work carried out in school and community spaces in Córdoba and Buenos Aires enabled us to observe the influence of different aspects such as geographical proximity, the educational project and school profile, the perceptions of it in family and community environments, the aspirations of families and young people and, mainly, the prior assistance of acquaintances and relatives. Focusing on the choice of secondary schools allows us to analyze a series of aspects that, until now, have been little investigated. Among others, it is worth noting the ways that intergenerational relationships adopt (and stress) and the relevance of intra-generational relationships.

Este artículo problematiza el proceso de elección de las escuelas a las cuales asisten jóvenes que forman parte de familias de origen boliviano y que residen actualmente en la Argentina. A partir del trabajo etnográfico desarrollado en espacios escolares y comunitarios de las provincias de Córdoba y Buenos Aires hemos observado que en estos procesos entran en juego aspectos vinculados a la proximidad geográfica, el proyecto educativo y perfil de la escuela, las percepciones de la misma en los entornos familiares y comunitarios, las aspiraciones de las familias y les jóvenes y, principalmente, la asistencia previa de conocidos y familiares. Poner el foco en la elección de la escuela secundaria permite adentrarse en una serie de aspectos que, hasta el momento, han sido poco indagados. Entre otros, cabe señalar los modos que adoptan (y tensionan) las relaciones intergeneracionales y el peso de las relaciones intra-generacionales. Este artigo problematiza o processo de escolha das escolas frequentadas por jovens que fazem parte de famílias de origem boliviana e que atualmente residem na Argentina. A partir do trabalho etnográfico realizado em espaços escolares e comunitários nas províncias de Córdoba e Buenos Aires, observamos que aspectos relacionados à proximidade geográfica, o projeto educacional e o perfil escolar, as percepções dos mesmos em ambientes familiares e comunitários, as aspirações de famílias e jovens e, principalmente, o atendimento prévio de conhecidos e parentes. Focar a escolha do ensino médio permite entrar em uma série de aspectos que, até agora, foram pouco investigados.
