In this paper we discuss the particular case of Mariano Ruiz-Funes and his pilgrimage through the exile that took him to Mexico. He was a professor of criminal law in the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and in the Colegio de Mexico. He participated in the spaces of sociability of exile in Mexico, such as the Union of University Professors Exiles. From these spaces he worked actively in denouncing the new Francoist state. During this period he maintained his friendship with Luis Jiménez de Asúa, who lived his in exile in Argentina. El fin de la Guerra Civil precipitó la marcha al exilio de miles españoles. Diversos fueron los caminos que iniciaron al cruzar la frontera. En este trabajo analizaremos el caso particular de Mariano Ruiz-Funes y su peregrinar por el exilio que, finalmente, lo llevó a México, donde desarrolló su faceta de profesor de derecho penal en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) y el Colegio de México. Además de participar activamente en los espacios de sociabilidad del exilio en México, como la Unión de Profesores Universitarios Exiliados. Desde estos espacios trabajó activamente en la denuncia del nuevo Estado franquista.
