description The need to focus this analysis on the concepts of self-management and associativism arises from previous research on the associative economic initiatives of the entrepreneurs of the Center for Entrepreneurs of the Social Economy (CEES, for its acronym in Spanish) of Santa Fe city. The theories that frame the emerging hypothesis of that previous research about the tensions between undertaking and associating, where the entrepreneurial capacity does not accompany the associative will and, simultaneously, self-management is confused with individualism will be explored. From contributions of Latin American authors from the field of the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE), the theoretical complexity and the numerous propositions implied by the notion of self-management are exposed. Subsequently, conceptualizations about associativism are reviewed in order to identify the main elements of this notion. Different types and styles of cooperation are distinguished, which allows the possible motivations of social entrepreneurs to develop this type of practice to be addressed. Finally, associativism is regarded as an essential strategy in the construction of its sustainability, based on a review of different perspectives on this concept. These journeys seek to generate some fundamental theoretical inputs when investigating the sense of self-management and associativism built by the entrepreneurs of the Center for Entrepreneurs of the Social Economy (CEES) of Santa Fe city.

These journeys seek to generate some fundamental theoretical inputs when investigating the sense of self-management and associativism built by the entrepreneurs of the Center for Entrepreneurs of the Social Economy (CEES) of Santa Fe city.
