Sumario:This research work is intended to be a contributionto initial education in the framework of itsgrowth in recent years as part of the formal teachingsystem. The central issue refers to trends, changes,and continuities in curricular prescriptions of InitialEducation in the period comprised between 1984 and2010 in the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina. Thestudy is carried out by analyzing both the four curriculardocuments that were in force in the aforementionedperiod and testimonials, opinions, and assessmentsgathered by kindergarten teachers along the developmentof their professional careers. The absence ofspecific works on this subject for the first educationallevel in Entre Ríos motivated this research to addressthe problem in order to raise awareness about thisissue. The aims of this study are: to describe curricularprescriptions of the first level of education in theprovince of Entre Ríos in the period comprised between1984 and 2010; to identify the differences, similarities,continuity, and changes in these prescriptions; andto know the opinions and assessments on structuringsubjects and curricular development in relation to thetransformations generated by curriculum changes inthe mentioned period.
