First, an original theory is presented according to which we must distinguish between strong disagreements and weak disagreements. Such a theory is 'hybrid' in the sense that it prescribes a conciliatory reaction in one case (weak disagreements) and a steadfast reaction in the other (strong disagreements). Second, a common objection against conciliatory views is presented which poses a threat against the view above mentioned. According to the objection conciliatory views prescribe in some circumstances its own rejection. Finally, it is argued that this objection can be challenged on several grounds, hence, it represents no danger against the view defended in this article.
