We assume that the political situationaffected all the aspects of social life, also its relative autonomy. First, we  outline the general characteristics of the structure of the sub–fieldof cinema in Santa Fe city. Then, we focus on the strike of teachers and students of the  Cinematography Institute of the National University of Litoral (UNL) that ocurred in 1970–1971. The strike functions as a starting place to visualize the  different positions of the filmmakers around art and politics. In this way this paper proposes a twofold analysis: the structure of the field on the one hand,  and the different positions, readings, productions and discussions of young filmmakers around the phenomenon of political radicalization on the other.  En el presente artículo realizamos, desde una perspectiva cualitativa, una aproximación a las posibles relaciones entre los realizadores del subcampo del  cine santafesino y el proceso general de radicalización política que caracterizó a Argentina en los años 60–70. Partimos del supuesto de que el campo  político logró permear los demás campos de la vida social, afectando su autonomía relativa. Para esto hemos hecho un esbozo de las características  generales de la estructura del subcampo del cine en la ciudad de Santa Fe. Por otra parte, hemos reconstruido la huelga de docentes y estudiantes del Instituto de Cinematografía de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL), efectuada entre 1970–1971, ya que la misma funciona como ojo de tormenta para  visibilizar diferentes posturas de los realizadores en torno al arte y la política. Atento a estos aspectos, el artículo girará en torno a dos ejes: la estructura  del campo, por un lado, y los diferentes posicionamientos, lecturas, producciones y discusiones de los jóvenes realizadores santafesinos en torno al  fenómeno de radicalización política, por otro.
