| Sumario: | The “discourse ethics” elaborated by Karl-Otto Apel represents a proposal of ethical “foundation” in which a “transformation” of the Kantian ethics by means of two principal resources is endeavored: the passage of the monological perspective to the dialogical, and the overcoming of the “rigorism”. Nevertheless, Apel remains in the Kantian trend, in the sense of the apriorism universalistic. The foundation is done within the frame of a “pragmatic-transcendental reflection” and consists of showing the “discourse principle” or the “basic norm” as condition of possibility to any argumentation. This principle states the exigency that all the conflicts of interests should be solved through “practical discourses” (that is to say, dialogues in which the consensus about a line of action should be chase for all the possible affected). The characteristic -and also the Apel’s original contribution- results to be the recognition of that, a sufficiently based principle, cannot be applicable in certain situations. This determines the need of a “part B” of ethics, in which Apel investigates the conditions of possibility to the application. The present study concludes marking the boundaries of some pendant questions in Apel’s ethics as well as showing that the general balance favors the contributions more than those questions. |
