The presence of characters linked to health sciences is a constant throughout her work and adopts various configurations in her narrative. Especially her early texts exhibit associations between surgery and crime and between medicine and social control. However, it can also be noticed in this narrative a more playful and brazen treatment of the figure of the doctor that appeals to certain commonplaces of medicine both to recognize his actions and to parody them. In some cases, it is possible to associate certain characterizations of the medical profile with some nuances of the literary modality of nonsense that reveal the writer's acute reflections on medical work. La narrativa de Angélica Gorodischer está atravesada por imaginarios de la medicina en los que seguramente intervino el trabajo como bibliotecaria en una institución médica que sostuvo hasta jubilarse. La presencia de personajes vinculados a las ciencias de la salud es una constante en toda su obra y adopta diversas configuraciones en su narrativa. Especialmente en textos tempranos se encuentran asociaciones entre cirugía y crimen y entre medicina y control social. No obstante, también puede advertirse en esta narrativa un tratamiento más lúdico y desfachatado de la figura del médico que apela a ciertos lugares comunes de la medicina tanto para reconocer su accionar como para parodiarlo. En algunos casos es posible asociar ciertas caracterizaciones del perfil médico con algunos matices de la modalidad literaria del nonsense que dejan ver las agudas reflexiones de la escritora sobre la labor médica.
