| Sumario: | Filmmakers such as Vertov and Kuleshov used the image of writing to define their perception of the practice of montage. From a literary perspective, it is possible to conceive, inversely, of writing as a montage of elements collected during a process of searching, recording, and prior research. It is even seen as a process that is present from the beginning, when a «theme» is «chosen», material is accumulated, a corpus is formed, pieces are eliminated, and new ones are added, until the collected material reaches its final form. This process has been compared to the assembly of a collection. However, the ideas of an editing table or a collection are in jeopardy if we want to apply them to the study of digital poetry. How can we conceive of a work table if there are no books? Is it appropriate to compare the researcher to a collector? This article problematizes the ideas of collection and editing table as metaphors for the study and assembly of a corpus of digital literature.
