spelling I26-R133-article-151282025-12-12T16:24:43Z Esas vidas desdichadas: figuraciones de lo precario en los cuentos de Mariana Enriquez Those wretched lives: figurations of precarity in the short stories of Mariana Enriquez Sánchez, Silvina recent Argentine literature neoliberalism precarity affectivities Mariana Enriquez literatura argentina reciente neoliberalismo precariedad afectividades Mariana Enriquez Argentine literature captures the political, economic, social, spatial, and cultural transformations brought about by the full implementation of neoliberalism during the 1990s and early 21st century through configurations of experience and the redistribution of the visible. This paper proposes the emergence of affective and perceptual fictions of precarity that accommodate social subjects affected by poverty or in the process of impoverishment, as well as lives marked by misery, instability, fragility, and lack of protection. These are perceptual fictions, as they manage to fracture the normative frameworks of recognition, making the emergence of precarious subjects possible; they are also affective fictions, as this phenomenon impacts subjectivities, altering the realm of perception and the disposition of emotions. Additionally, the paper examines the configuration of precarity in Mariana Enriquez’s short stories «El carrito» and «El chico sucio», analyzing the characterization of impoverished subjects through figures, topics, and images that reactivate cultural grammars around poverty while also transgressing them; it also explores the construction of the poor as a threatening alterity, a «poor-monster» that can provoke sensations of danger as well as stubborn fascination. La literatura argentina da cuenta de las transformaciones políticas, económicas, sociales, espaciales y culturales suscitadas a partir de la plena implementación del neoliberalismo durante los años noventa y los comienzos del siglo XXI, a través de configuraciones de la experiencia y de la redistribución de lo visible. El artículo postula la emergencia de ficciones afectivas y perceptivas de lo precario que alojan a los sujetos sociales atravesados por la pobreza, o en proceso de empobrecimiento, y a las vidas signadas por la miseria, la inestabilidad, la fragilidad y la desprotección. Son ficciones perceptivas, porque logran fisurar los marcos normativos de reconocimiento y hacen posible la aparición de los sujetos precarios, y son ficciones afectivas, porque ese acontecimiento impacta en las subjetividades, modifica el trazado sensible y la disposición de las afecciones.
