| Sumario: | Law No. 26,150 on Comprehensive Sexual Education (ISE) is presented as a tool for ensuring that all individuals have access to the necessary information to exercise and maintain full, pleasurable, and responsible sexual and reproductive health. Furthermore, its implementation guarantees access to relevant, objective, and valid information, allowing each person to make decisions about their own life projects and promoting discussions about ways to feel, live, and express sexuality.
Studying this public policy, which materializes the rights-based approach and gender perspective, is important for recognizing the existing inequalities in capitalist society, as ISE constitutes an educational right that enhances other social, political, sexual, and gender rights, and promotes the civic education of those who receive it. It also allows schools to work on, challenge, and deconstruct positions, actions, and discourses imbued with prejudices and stereotypes based on sex-generic differences. |
