The objective of this research was to identify the degree of visibility or invisibilization of afrodescendants in the history taught in elementary schools. The question that guided the empirical study was: what place do afrodescendants occupy as social actors in the argentinean history classes taught in elementary schools? For this purpose, we developed a fieldwork in which various qualitative techniques were combined, such as the analysis of the curricular design, questionnaires to students to identify their social representations, in-depth interviews to teachers at the higher level and to afrodescendant activists, as well as the participant observation of some history classes in the first year of the course. En este trabajo se analizan los resultados de una investigación iniciada en el año dos mil veintidós en diversos institutos superiores de formación docente de la Provincia de Córdoba, en el marco del trabajo final de la Especialización en Enseñanza de las Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. A partir de la misma se buscó identificar el grado de visibilidad o de invisibilización de los/as afrodescendientes en la historia que se enseña en los profesorados de educación primaria. La pregunta que orientó el relevamiento empírico fue: ¿qué lugar ocupan los/as afrodescendientes como actores sociales en las clases de historia argentina que se imparten en los profesorados? Para ello, se desarrolló un trabajo de campo en el cual se combinaron diversas técnicas cualitativas como el análisis del diseño curricular, la realización de cuestionarios a estudiantes para identificar sus representaciones sociales, entrevistas en profundidad a docentes del nivel superior y a activistas afrodescendientes, además de la observación participante de algunas clases de historia del primer año de la carrera.
