It draws on the work of local authors who provide diverse insights into the political, economic, institutional, and professional processes of Social Work in Santiago del Estero. In recent years, members of the professional collective have been conducting research from the historical-critical perspective on the history of Social Work in the province of Santiago del Estero, especially it is pertinent to highlight the team of History and Foundations of Social Work of the first year of the Bachelor's Degree in Work at the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Health, which also aims to provide a continuity in the chronology of dates studied so far identified the institutionalization of the profession in the province.  El presente trabajo tiene el propósito de visibilizar la institucionalización de la profesión en Santiago del Estero, a partir del análisis de procesos históricos para la reconstrucción de la historia del Trabajo Social, a partir de trabajos de autores/as locales que brindan diversos aportes sobre los procesos políticos, económicos, institucionales y de la profesión de Trabajo Social en Santiago del Estero. En los últimos años integrantes del colectivo profesional vienen realizando investigaciones desde la perspectiva histórica-crítica sobre la historia del Trabajo Social en la provincia de Santiago del Estero, especialmente es pertinente resaltar al equipo de Historia y Fundamentos del Trabajo Social del primer año de la carrera de Licenciatura en Trabajo en la Facultad de Humanidades Ciencias Sociales y de la Salud. El presente escrito también pretende aportar una continuidad en la cronología de fechas estudiadas hasta el momento identificado la institucionalización de la profesión en la provincia.
