This paper describes a teacher training proposal implemented at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National University of La Plata, focused on pondering on university teaching through the observation and analysis of photographs. The Pedagogical Department of this Faculty designed and carried out a pedagogical module aimed at Medical Student Assistants. This module included both in–person and distance activities, where images of educational situations were analyzed using some concepts from educator Paulo Freire as a reference. The experience provided an opportunity for the student assistants to view the teaching scene through new lenses, in light of contributions from the educational sciences and to begin a process of reviewing their teaching practices. La observación se destaca como una estrategia clave para la formación docente, permitiendo fomentar una mirada crítica y reflexiva sobre la situación educativa. En este trabajo se describe una propuesta de formación docente implementada en la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata, enfocada en la reflexión sobre la enseñanza universitaria a partir de la observación y análisis de fotografías. El Departamento Pedagógico de dicha Facultad diseñó y llevó a cabo un módulo pedagógico dirigido a ayudantes alumnos de la carrera de Medicina. Este módulo incluyó actividades presenciales y a distancia, donde se analizaron imágenes de situaciones educativas utilizando como referencia algunos conceptos del pedagogo Paulo Freire.
