It reviews the circumstances of its creation, the difficulties encountered, the gradual incorporation of contributors and the reception of the articles, as well as the journal's relationship with the development of the university's research policies. It also reflects on this corpus by looking at the fields covered, the dominant themes, the authors and their careers. Likewise, it refers to the material choices made in terms of graphic design, the gradual constitution of an institutional profile and the consolidation of this publication within the local musicological framework. Presentamos aquí una crónica de los comienzos de la Revista del Instituto Superior de Música de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral (Santa Fe, Argentina), más precisamente de los nueve primeros números, publicados en los trece años que van de 1989 a 2002, en cuya concreción participamos. Se revisan las circunstancias de su creación, las dificultades enfrentadas, la progresiva incorporación de colaboradores y la recepción de artículos, así como las relaciones de la revista con el desarrollo de las políticas de investigación implementadas por la universidad. Se reflexiona asimismo sobre este corpus mediante la observación de los campos transitados, las temáticas predominantes, los autores y sus trayectorias, las decisiones materiales referidas al diseño gráfico, la paulatina constitución de un perfil institucional y la consolidación de esta publicación en el marco musicológico local.
