Descripción
Sumario:The papers gathered here are the result of a workshop organized by the Grupo de Estudios sobre Estado, Espacio y Desarrollo of the Instituto de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales del  Litoral. The articles problematize contemporary events such as the crisis of US hegemony and the current power transition, the heterogeneity in the rise of the Global South, the characteristics of the growing China-Latin America relations, and the emergence of the Indo-Pacific alongside the economic re-centralization around India. Exploring these processes allows us to deepen our approach to development as a social and conflictive process in the capitalist world-system, in which dimensions such as the spatiality of power, the functioning of scales, historical trajectories, states, and social forces in dispute within a hierarchical and unequal global scenario intervene. In this sense, this issue aims to contribute to a research agenda around the linkages between development and geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics.
