The articles problematize contemporary events such as the crisis of US hegemony and the current power transition, the heterogeneity in the rise of the Global South, the characteristics of the growing China-Latin America relations, and the emergence of the Indo-Pacific alongside the economic re-centralization around India. Exploring these processes allows us to deepen our approach to development as a social and conflictive process in the capitalist world-system, in which dimensions such as the spatiality of power, the functioning of scales, historical trajectories, states, and social forces in dispute within a hierarchical and unequal global scenario intervene. In this sense, this issue aims to contribute to a research agenda around the linkages between development and geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics. Los trabajos aquí reunidos son resultado de un workshop organizado por el Grupo de Estudios sobre Estado, Espacio y Desarrollo del Instituto de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales del  Litoral. Los artículos problematizan sucesos contemporáneos como la crisis de hegemonía estadounidense y la transición actual de poder, la heterogeneidad en el ascenso del Sur Global, las características que adquieren las crecientes relaciones China-América Latina y la emergencia del Indo-Pacífico junto a la re-centralización económica en torno a la India. Indagar en estos procesos nos permite complejizar el abordaje del desarrollo como un proceso social y conflictivo en el sistema-mundo capitalista, en el cual intervienen dimensiones como la espacialidad del poder, el funcionamiento de las escalas, las trayectorias históricas, los Estados y las fuerzas sociales en disputa dentro de un escenario global jerárquico y desigual. En ese sentido, este número busca contribuir a una agenda de investigación en torno a las vinculaciones entre el desarrollo y las dinámicas geopolíticas y geoeconómicas.
