In order to do so, we will give an account of the way in which the infrastructures, the floods and the production of life in the place gave a certain order to this island territory since its foundation and until 1970/80. To carry out this work we resorted to a qualitative methodological strategy, the instrumental case study (Merlinsky; 2008). We undertook a multi-method work where different empirical evidences converge. We also recovered the periodization proposed by Gioria (2009) to study the construction of the geographical space of Santa Fe. Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar los procesos constitutivos y constituyentes de las actuales disputas en y por el territorio isleño del municipio de Santa Fe. Para ello daremos de cuenta de la manera en que las infraestructuras, las inundaciones y la producción de la vida en el lugar le dieron un determinado orden a este territorio isleño desde su fundación y hasta 1970/80. Para llevar adelante este trabajo recurrimos a una estrategia metodológica cualitativa, el estudio de caso instrumental (Merlinsky; 2008). Emprendemos un trabajo multimétodo en donde convergen diferentes evidencias empíricas. Asimismo, recuperamos la periodización propuesta por Gioria (2009) para estudiar la construcción del espacio geográfico de Santa Fe.
