| Sumario: | his article presents an experience ofneighborhood intervention in Nuevo AmanecerOeste, in Montevideo's Cerro neighborhood,following a request from neighbors for support in the formation of a Neighborhood Commission through the Learning and Extension Program of the University of the Republic, Uruguay, in 2023. In this regard, through teaching and university outreach, a local approach is generated through a networking strategy and the formation of a mixed driving group that promotes the organization of a neighborhood commission, as well as a survey, assembly, event, and electoral proclamation. Regarding the reflections, we revisit the concepts of José Luis Rebellato and Freirean sentipensamiento on community protagonism, the dialogic generation of knowledge, and collective action. At the same time, methodological approaches that support the intervention are brought into play, such as the construction of participation circles and collective mapping. |
