In response to this situation, this paper proposes to analyze the economic discussions of the democratic left grouped in one of the most important magazines of that affiliation: La Ciudad Futura (LCF). The approach is carried out focusing on the debates with socioeconomic content that involved key issues of the time such as the reform of the State, the role of economic groups, political transformations, economic policy and structural reforms, among others, between 1989 and 1991. It is concluded that, despite the plurality of voices and the interpretive heterogeneity around the main socioeconomic problems that were debated, there was important implicit consensus around key issues such as economic adjustment and State reform, abandoning previous associated slogans. to the lefts. El cierre del gobierno de Raúl Alfonsín (1983-1989) y el comienzo de la etapa de Carlos Menem (1989-1999) se desarrolló en el marco de dos crisis hiperinflacionarias que pusieron en cuestión las concepciones económicas de una izquierda que se venía renovado desde fines de los años ochenta. Atendiendo a esta coyuntura, este trabajo propone analizar las discusiones económicas de la izquierda democrática nucleada en una de las revistas más importantes de aquella filiación: La Ciudad Futura (LCF). El abordaje se realiza enfocándose en los debates con contenido socioeconómico que involucraron temas clave de la época como la reforma del Estado, el papel de los grupos económicos, las transformaciones políticas, la política económica y las reformas estructurales, entre otros, entre 1989 y 1991. Se concluye en que, a pesar de la pluralidad de voces y la heterogeneidad interpretativa en torno a los principales problemas socioeconómicos que se debatían, existieron consensos implícitos importantes en torno a cuestiones clave como el ajuste económico y la reforma del Estado abandonando anteriores consignas asociadas a las izquierdas.
