Thanks to the deepening in this direction, valuable information is now known about a diversity of characteristics that even allows us to rethink current and past instruments, in relation to their interpretation and function within their own culture.  This article starts from a historical perspective on organology that we could call traditional and that has been gradually embracing the incorporation of the social practices that cross the discipline, proposing then a reading through the concepts of visibility, technique and culture, as possible complementary lenses to go towards the understanding of the complex dialectical relationship that exists between art, technology and society.
