However, a significant portion of the activities in our society still leans more toward the masculine, even, if we consider activities related to public and political life. Consequently, the possibility of improving paritarian democracy is limited under these circumstances. This paper aims to identify the democratic subnational affirmative action programs, considering beforehand the challenges that women may face in the future. Partiendo de reconocer el largo camino recorrido por las mujeres a nivel internacional y nacional, se busca reflexionar respecto de la ausencia de mujeres en lugares de decisión y las dificultades que ellas tienen para acceder a los pocos espacios que logran ocupar. En los últimos treinta años, sin lugar a dudas, se ha producido un cambio en los paradigmas. Sin embargo, gran parte de las actividades de nuestras sociedades siguen estando absolutamente masculinizadas, más aún si miramos las actividades vinculadas a la vida pública y política. En este sentido, la posibilidad de decidir en términos de democracia paritaria, se ve limitada. De esta manera, el presente trabajo intenta realizar un recuento de las medidas afirmativas llevadas adelante en el nivel nacional y subnacional en términos de calidad democrática, pensando principalmente cuáles son los desafíos que quedan hacia el futuro.
