Sumario:The mobilization and transfer of beef cattle is essential among the production systems that make up this activity because it is their means of linking. The objective of this study was to investigate the type of transportation used to move beef cattle and to describe the marketing of their meat. The bibliographic search was carried out using Google Scholar, Redalyc, and SciELO, and a brief survey was applied to 3 cattle carriers and 25 retail beef dealers in Pachuca, Hidalgo, México. The type of transport used to transfer and move beef cattle depends on the number of animals and the distance, but management strategies before and during movement are necessary to improve quality and safety. People with well-defined activities participate in the beef marketing chain, but there is still no traceability system in Mexico about the production chain. Nonetheless, in retail meat establishments in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico, the meat is marketed based on the demand that is generated to satisfy the popular cuts of meat demanded by the population.
