Analysis of the Triple Concerto for Alto Saxophone, Violin, Piano and Orchestra Wayar de la Quintana, Juan Gabriel On this research we analyzed Alberto Villalpando’s Concierto Triple para Saxofón Alto, Violín, Piano y Orquesta in order to define the elements of native music from the Bolivian Andes area, and insofar, to understand the working of these within the piece. First, we defined and characterized the central elements of native music from the area of Bolivian Andes. For this purpose, we searched into published papers concerning this issue. Then, we analyzed the score with the use of Dante Grela’s methodology, adapting it to our purposes and having into account only the pertinent aspects of the methodology to the music that we are working with. Finally, we made a comparative analysis between the results of the score analysis and the compiled material related to the native music. With this research, we have achieved on the one hand, to clearly characterize the musical elements coming from the native music of Bolivian Andes, and on the other, we could understand how the composer takes these melodic and textural elements in order to emulate them with the orchestra and sometimes to take them out of the original musical context, and pull them into transformation and development. With all this, Alberto Villalpando achieves a coherent musical speech, in which native musical elements and traditional music elements from the XX century coexist harmoniously.  En este trabajo analizamos el Concierto Triple para Saxofón Alto, Violín, Piano y Orquesta de Alberto Villalpando con el objetivo de determinar los elementos provenientes de la música indígena de la zona de Los Andes bolivianos existentes en él y entender su funcionamiento dentro de la composición. En primera instancia determinamos y caracterizamos los elementos centrales de la música indígena boliviana, haciendo foco en la región de Los Andes. Para esto, nos basamos en trabajos específicos de mayor profundidad realizados con anterioridad. Realizamos luego un análisis de la partitura utilizando la metodología de análisis propuesta por Dante Grela, adaptándola a nuestros objetivos y teniendo en cuenta los aspectos pertinentes a la música con la que estamos trabajando. Finalmente realizamos un análisis comparativo entre los resultados obtenidos del análisis de la partitura y lo recopilado respecto a la música indígena. Con el presente trabajo hemos conseguido por una parte una caracterización clara, ordenada y precisa de los aspectos musicales propios de la música indígena proveniente de la región de Los Andes bolivianos. Por otra parte, pudimos entender como el compositor toma elementos melódicos y texturales específicos de la música indígena en algunas ocasiones para emularlos con el orgánico de la orquesta, y en otras ocasiones para sacarlos de su contexto musical original y someterlos a transformaciones y desarrollos. Con todo esto Alberto Villalpando logra un discurso musical coherente donde conviven elementos indígenas y otros propios de la música de tradición escrita del siglo XX.
