These speeches demonstrate his virtuosity in the use of extremely difficult rhetorical figures such as hyperbaton, hypophora or parenthesis and the interminglement of diverse voices and tones in the same passage of a certain discourse, thus transforming a monological speech in a dialogical one. El rasgo más importante del estilo de Demóstenes es la «pronunciación» de sus discursos. Para confirmar este aserto disponemos no sólo de anécdotas de los antiguos, sino también de un gran número de claves en el propio texto de los discursos demosténicos que prueban su virtuosismo en manejar figuras tan difíciles como el hipérbaton, la hipófora o el paréntesis y en mezclar diferentes voces y tonos en el mismo pasaje de un discurso transformando así un discurso monológico en dialógico.
