Sumario:Verbum and Revista de Filosofía can be considered two representative expressions of certain positions, debates and tensions around the definition of university knowledge in Argentina in the 1920s, and more specifically of the knowledge that took shape in the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the Buenos Aires University. In the article we read them in dialogue, standing on the first one because it’s a publication with institutional affiliations in this house of studies. We recognize there, in particular, the developments linked to the definition of philosophy, its objective and its objects of reflection, but also its approach perspective. These aspects are considered as constitutive of a disciplinary discourse that was gestated within the framework of a series of conceptual and institutional tensions, exploring the link between these two levels. It is about reviewing the theoretical definitions of both publications as elements of a dispute about the way in which philosophy should be understood and taught in the academy, but also as one more element that was articulated with the possibilities of displaying a meaning for the Faculty and its knowledge in a specific context.
