Even though the test has been applied to Poncirus, specific protocols for this species have not been developed yet. In the present work, a preliminary assay was carried out to test the TZ concentration and incubation time recommended by seed analyst associations (1% for 18 and 24h), the results of which were used to establish treatments suited to Poncirus. The TZ salt concentrations evaluated were 0.2 and 0.5%, with 3 and 5 h exposure to TZ, in a 2x2x2 factorial design. Seeds were classified as viable or non-viable according to the different staining obtained. It was determined that 5 h of incubation in 0.2% TZ salt concentration of unscarified seeds is the most suitable combination for assessing viability of Poncirus trifoliata seeds. way. Poncirus trifoliata (L.) Raf., es uno de los portainjertos más importantes para la producción citrícola de la Argentina, y se propaga por semillas cuya latencia física dificulta su germinación. La prueba bioquímica de tetrazolio (TZ) permite una evaluación rápida de la calidad fisiológica de las semillas. A pesar de que la prueba se ha aplicado a Poncirus, aún no se han desarrollado protocolos específicos para esta especie. En el presente trabajo, se llevó a cabo un ensayo preliminar para pro-bar la concentración de TZ y el tiempo de incubación recomendado por las asociaciones de analistas de semillas (1% durante 18 y 24 horas), cuyos resultados se utilizaron para establecer tratamientos adecuados para la especie. Las concentraciones de sal de TZ evaluadas fueron de 0,2 y 0,5%, con una exposición de 3 y 5 horas a TZ, en un diseño factorial 2x2x2. Las semillas se clasificaron como viables o no viables de acuerdo con las diferentes tinciones obtenidas.
