Bearing in mind the students’ fondness for videogames, they were requested to produce electronic games about the Russian Revolution of 1917 using the RPG Playground game editor. This tool allows creating role–playing games without previous programming knowledge. The application includes a set of pre-made elements such as graphics, maps, characters, and sound effects that can be used for the creation of electronic games. El presente trabajo se propone compartir la propuesta y balance de una experiencia innovadora que se llevó a cabo en el cuarto año del Instituto Privado del Club Atlético Estudiantes D–170 (Paraná, Entre Ríos). Teniendo en cuenta la relación que tienen los alumnos con los videojuegos, la experiencia se centró en que los estudiantes en distintos grupos produzcan juegos electrónicos sobre la Revolución rusa de 1917 a través de la herramienta RPG Playground. Dicha herramienta permite la posibilidad de crear juegos de rol sin conocimientos de programación previos. La aplicación incluye un conjunto de elementos prefabricados como gráficos, mapas, personajes y efectos de sonido que pueden ser utilizados para la creación de juegos electrónicos.
