| Sumario: | Currently, Physical Education teachers say we adhere to constructivism and a critical and committed conception from the pedagogical theories that frame the teaching and learning processes. We tend to call ourselves trainers of people with a critical and reflective sense, who make conscious use of their body. Teachers who give a central place to the student, leaving aside their own role.
But when analyzing our practices, some questions arise: Is today Physical Education, the discipline that we say it is and that we defend, or are Physical Education teachers still repeating "recipes" that students must follow for a certain time, with a pre-established repetition and with a goal that is often lost? Do we train people with knowledge and awareness about their own body, or on the contrary do we train uncritical, alienated subjects, and at the service of capitalist society where they are reified, taken as instruments and are only trained to respond to the job market? , to comply with schedules, to adopt a calm behavior, respect times and places in pursuit of production?
It will then be the objective of this article to shed light on this problem that crosses our daily work. |
