At first, it will be necessary to approach to the narrative voice, that works as the most important element of cohesion among the events. Secondly, we will focus on the connection between the colective moral and the armed conflicts, as well as its material consecuences. Finally, I will tackle the dialectic between the aim of find a new aesthetic form and its destruction through the caricature. In spite of the usual ambiguity that is presented in the Fernández Flórez’s novels, I conclude that these contradictions cause a naïve look of the tragedy of war, whose single argument will be underlying pre-fascists theories. En este estudio se propone un análisis de algunas contradicciones pequeñoburguesas presentes en Los que no fuimos a la guerra (1930). Primero, será necesario aproximarse a la voz narrativa, que aquí funciona como el elemento de unión más importante entre los sucesos narrados. Segundo, nos centraremos en la relación entre la moral colectiva y los conflictos bélicos, así como también sus consecuencias materiales. Y por último, se abordará la dialéctica entre la intención de encontrar una nueva forma estética y su destrucción a través de la caricatura. A pesar de la usual ambigüedad ideológica que presentan las novelas de Fernández Flórez, se concluye que estas contradicciones provocan una mirada inocente sobre la tragedia de la guerra, cuyo único argumento serán teorías prefascistas subyacentes.
