The objective of this work was to investigate the assessment of the incoming students at the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences of the National University of the Center of the Province of Buenos Aires in relation to attitudes and ethical-moral values ​​specific to veterinary medical professionalism. A survey with a Lickert-type scale was administered to 80 students. Most of the students placed in high values ​​of importance the general principles of ethics, attitudes and values ​​towards the clients, the animals, the work and towards themselves of the veterinary professionals. The results would indicate the presence of an important cognitive base that would allow to include explicitly the work with capacities, abilities and professional values ​​in the study plans from the moment of admission. La enseñanza del profesionalismo y la construcción de profesionalidad es uno de los ejes de los nuevos diseños curriculares en carreras de medicina humana y veterinaria a nivel internacional. El objetivo de este trabajo fue indagar las concepciones de los estudiantes ingresantes a la Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias de la Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires en relación con actitudes y valores ético-morales específicos de la profesionalidad médica veterinaria. Se administró una encuesta con escala tipo Lickert a 80 estudiantes. La mayoría de los estudiantes ubicó en elevados valores de importancia los principios generales de la ética, de actitudes y valores frente a los clientes, a los animales, al trabajo y hacia sí mismos de los profesionales veterinarios. Los resultados indicarían la presencia de una base cognitiva importante que permitiría incluir de manera explícita el trabajo con capacidades, habilidades y valores profesionales en los planes de estudio desde el momento mismo del ingreso.
