In analytical terms, we use the theory of the political process, a perspective that allows connecting collective action with the political area. As a hypothesis, it is argued that the popular revolt of 2019 cannot be understood without challenging the student movement, because this will reveal, at different times, the fissures of the Chilean educational model as well as the economic and political model inherited from the Pinochet dictatorship, and with it, revealing its democratizing potential. En términos analíticos, se utiliza la teoría del proceso político, perspectiva que permite conectar la acción colectiva con la arena política. Como hipótesis, se sostiene que la revuelta popular del 2019 no puede entenderse sin la impugnación del movimiento estudiantil, puesto que este irá develando, en distintos momentos, las fisuras del modelo educacional chileno como del modelo económico y político heredado de la dictadura de Pinochet, dando cuenta con ello de su potencial democratizador.
