| Sumario: | To move towards sustainable urban development in cities, drinking water management is essential. As a result, the objective of the article is to make visible the municipal historical management of the drinking water service in San Justo, which is four decades old. The peculiarity in the fact is that San Justo is one of the few provincial towns that has managed the service for its own municipality, while other towns in the province have another mode of management through “Aguas Santafesinas SA”, cooperatives or communes. Through interviews with local authorities, laboratory consultations, information gathering and on-site visits, it is possible to describe the local municipal service and thus identify the needs for improvement and the challenges facing its management. Thinking about progress towards its sustainability, in a context where population growth puts increasing pressure on the service and on the resource, the competent local authority must institute substantial changes in water management. |
