This transformed online and virtual education, highlighting the importance of access to ICT. This study analyzes the ICT accessibility of students in Tierra del Fuego and its relevance in peripheral higher education, based on data derived from 2000 responses from students at the National University of Tierra del Fuego. The results and conclusions examine perceptions of virtual tools and address the challenges of their adoption. Within this context, multiple contributions and reflections are made regarding the state's role in promoting science and higher education, as well as the role of these technologies in peripheral contexts. Tras la declaración de la pandemia de Covid-19, el gobierno argentino implementó el Aislamiento Social Preventivo y Obligatorio, suspendiendo actividades no esenciales y clases presenciales. Esto transformó la educación en línea y virtual, destacando la importancia del acceso a las TIC. Este estudio analiza la accesibilidad TIC de estudiantes en Tierra del Fuego y su relevancia en la educación superior periférica en base a datos derivados de 2000 respuestas de estudiantes de la Universidad Nacional de Tierra del Fuego. En los resultados y conclusiones se examinan las percepciones sobre herramientas virtuales y se abordan los desafíos de su adopción. En ese marco, se realizan múltiples contribuciones y reflexiones en torno al papel estatal en la promoción de la ciencia y la educación superior, y sobre el rol de estas tecnologías en contextos periféricos.
