Based on a journey through different moments and definitions, the topic of unintentional pregnancy and its interruption will be addressed, considering the different times that framed the interventions, those prior to legalization with the ILE, the step of legalization in 2019 with the IVE/ILE law 27610 and the effects of each moment. In conclusion, the idea is to show the transition from that time when abortion was made invisible in the health system, in the training of health professionals and unintentional pregnancy was not a reason for consultation in Health Centers and public hospitals. even less did it have a place in the political agendas of the rulers; But yes, and at the same time, it was a business for the private health system, despite the horrific mortality or morbidity rates that clandestine abortions brought. Today, how thanks to legalization these rates have dropped, and one of the most distressing health problems that a woman has to experience – unwanted pregnancy – can be addressed by the health system, guaranteeing legal, dignified support, without risks and free. Este escrito se propone como relato de experiencia guardando la impronta del posicionamiento ético profesional en que la dimensión subjetiva siempre tiene lugar. A partir de un recorrido por diferentes momentos y definiciones, se abordará la temática del embarazo no intencional y su interrupción, considerando los diferentes tiempos que enmarcaron las intervenciones, los previos a la legalización con el ILE, el paso de la legalización en 2019 con la ley IVE/ILE 27610 y los efectos de cada momento. Como conclusión, la idea es mostrar la transición de aquel momento en donde el aborto era invisibilizado en el sistema de salud, en la formación de profesionales de la salud y el embarazo no intencional no era motivo de consulta en Centros de Salud y hospitales públicos, menos aún tenía lugar en las agendas políticas de los gobernantes; pero sí, y en simultaneo, era un negocio para el sistema de salud privado, a pesar de los espantosos índices de mortalidad o morbilidad que traían los abortos clandestinos. Hoy, de cómo gracias a la legalización esos índices bajaron, y uno de los problemas de salud más angustiantes que le toca vivir a una mujer –el embarazo no deseado– pueda ser abordado desde el sistema de salud garantizándole un acompañamiento legal, digno, sin riesgos y gratuito.
