Sumario:The accelerated growth of unmanned aerial vehicles, also known as drones, and their application in various fields of action offers an opportunity for their use in emergency management due to a disaster. The various technologies that unmanned aerial vehicles can incorporate provide them with applications that can be very useful in disaster management, for example, they could analyze in detail (via mapping) the affected region, they would help build a network of communication between the survivors of the catastrophe and the nearest rescue teams and mobile networks, and could collect all types of information and data that would be immediately transmitted to the emergency management center for decision making. Therefore, this review analyzes the potential functionalities and benefits of unmanned aerial vehicles, as technological support in emergency management, considering both the typology of disaster and its performance in the different phases of disaster development and its management.
