In the Latin American region this has meant changes in the dynamics in which cooperation links are established, as well as in the structuring or restructuring of mobility programs, and in relation to the latter, it is necessary to develop measures and actions aimed at providing security tools to manage different episodes of risk they may face. For this, the Student Mobility Program of the University of Chile, through a plan of consultations with its students and open secondary sources, established a Security Protocol, in order to contribute to the management of possible risks related to international mobility, and this article is the story of that experience. Desde finales del siglo XX, las instituciones de educación superior (IES) se han enfrentado a los procesos de internacionalización de distinta manera, adoptando políticas y prácticas para llevar a cabo este proceso. En la región latinoamericana esto ha significado cambios en las dinámicas en que se establecen vínculos de cooperación, así como también en la estructuración o reestructuración de los programas de movilidad, y en relación a esto último, es que se hace necesario elaborar medidas y acciones que apunten a brindar herramientas de seguridad para gestionar distintos episodios de riesgos que puedan enfrentar. Para esto, el Programa de Movilidad Estudiantil de la Universidad de Chile, mediante un plan de consultas a sus estudiantes y a fuentes secundarias abiertas, estableció un Protocolo de Seguridad, con el fin contribuir con la gestión de posibles riesgos vinculados a la movilidad internacional, y el presente artículo es el relato de esa experiencia.
