| Sumario: | This article analyzes the discursive behavior of demonstrative adverbs of place in oral samples of speakers from the city of Santiago de Cuba (Cuba) and Olaya Herrera (Cartagena de Indias, Colombia) taking into account the linguistic and extralinguistic environment in which these forms appear and the intentions of the sender that lead to their use. The study carried out allows us to observe that these linguistic forms are of interest, both from the point of view of grammatical theory and from the point of view of their discursive behavior, since they acquire referential fullness within the pragmatic context in which they are used. In the research carried out, significant differences were found in the discursive behavior of these grammatical categories exponents of spatial deixis, which were related to the frequency of use and type of deictic expression, as well as with the form of pointing in which they appeared to be used. |
