The study carried out allows us to observe that these linguistic forms are of interest, both from the point of view of grammatical theory and from the point of view of their discursive behavior, since they acquire referential fullness within the pragmatic context in which they are used. In the research carried out, significant differences were found in the discursive behavior of these grammatical categories exponents of spatial deixis, which were related to the frequency of use and type of deictic expression, as well as with the form of pointing in which they appeared to be used. En el presente artículo se analiza el comportamiento discursivo de los adverbios demostrativos de lugar en muestras orales de hablantes de la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba (Cuba) y el barrio Olaya Herrera (Cartagena de Indias, Colombia), teniendo en cuenta el entorno lingüístico y extralingüístico en que aparecen dichas formas y las intenciones del emisor que lo llevan a su empleo. El estudio realizado permite observar que estas formas lingüísticas son de interés, tanto desde el punto de vista de la teoría gramatical como desde la óptica de su comportamiento discursivo, pues adquieren plenitud referencial dentro del contexto pragmático en que son utilizadas. En la investigación realizada se encontraron diferencias significativas en el comportamiento discursivo de estas categorías gramaticales exponentes de la deixis espacial, las cuales estuvieron relacionadas con la frecuencia de uso y tipo de expresión deíctica, así como con la forma de señalamiento en que aparecieron utilizadas.
