The conclusion is to include in IDF the teaching of research, systematize and publish teaching practices, seek alternatives from classroom teachers and students in training to understand Social Studies and strengthen the debate on initial training with more research that will allow us to understand how we teach to teach in Latin America. Se presenta un balance de las investigaciones en la formación inicial docente (FID) entre los años 2018-2023 y que tienen en común su relación con los discursos que Joan Pagès Blanch (1947-2020) heredó en América Latina. Posteriormente, se reflexiona el papel de la didáctica en la FID para cerrar con una propuesta sobre las finalidades de esta línea de investigación, a partir de los debates y contextos latinoamericanos. Se concluye incluir en la FID el enseñar a investigar, sistematizar y publicar las prácticas docentes, buscar alternativas desde las y los docentes de aula y el estudiantado en formación para comprender a los Estudios Sociales y fortalecer el debate sobre la formación inicial con más investigaciones que nos permitan comprender cómo enseñamos a enseñar en América Latina.
