From a glottopolitical perspective, this article presents the research results obtained through the analysis of thirteen interviews with Portuguese teachers from four Argentinian regions: the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA) and the provinces of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe and Córdoba. In the interviews, we elicited the value of Portuguese taking into account its place in the school curriculum with respect to other languages, the arguments to support the need for its teaching, and its perspective. The results indicate that Portuguese is a marginal and unstable discipline in the school curriculum. Therefore, teachers are committed to not only teaching, but also promoting it as glottopolitical school actors. Different paradigms of language teaching coexist in their discourses (structural, communicative and plurilingual), which does not always consider the regional dimension. Although this has not been expressed as a goal or a cross-cutting issue, it shows up in situated didactic activities that contemplate South American realities. A más de treinta años de la creación del Mercosur, interesa estudiar su impacto en la enseñanza de portugués como lengua extranjera en las escuelas secundarias argentinas. Desde una perspectiva glotopolítica, este artículo presenta los resultados de investigación obtenidos a partir del análisis de trece entrevistas a profesorxs de portugués de cuatro jurisdicciones de Argentina: Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (CABA) y las provincias de Buenos Aires, Santa Fe y Córdoba. En las entrevistas, indagamos el valor del portugués teniendo en cuenta el lugar que ocupa en el currículum escolar respecto de las otras lenguas, las justificaciones para argumentar la necesidad de su enseñanza y su perspectiva. Los resultados indican que el Portugués es una disciplina marginal e inestable en el currículum escolar. Por ello, lxs docentes se comprometen no sólo con su enseñanza, sino también como actorxs glotopolíticxs en la institución escolar impulsando su enseñanza. En sus discursos conviven diferentes paradigmas de la enseñanza de lenguas (estructural, comunicativo y plurilingüe) que no siempre toman en cuenta la dimensión regional. Si bien esta no se ha manifestado como objetivo o como problemática transversal, esta irrumpe en actividades didácticas situadas que contemplan las realidades sudamericanas. Facultad de Lenguas.
