Sumario:The aim of this work is to analyze the strategies of the social agents (high school supervisors in the educational system), according to the position they hold within the social field, when confronted with the legal rules. Another aim is to state some of the “rules of the rules of the game” which allow supervisors to move between bureaucratic hypernomia and absolute discretionality. These practices must be understood within the framework of the structures which make them possible. This is the reason why the role of the rules of the educational field is as important as the role of the rules of the bureaucratic field. Even though the practices of the heads of the educational system exist within a context of interaction, though this may seem paradoxical, the truth about them is not in them but between the interactions and their relation to the social space.
