In this investigation the beginner teacher was looked at from two angles: 1) To establish the characteristics of beginner teachers in Viedma as well as carry out comparisons with national and provincial data. 2) To understand the professional socialization as is perceived by the teachers themselves. In this latter case, the beginner teachers were interviewed so that they could explain the way they perceive themselves, their points of view and fears; their interpretations of their own work and what they actually do in the pursuit of permanent professional training. This work presents the results obtained in relation to socializing agents, especially “the parallel teacher”. Finally, there is a proposal to rethink the relation of “parallel teachers” as a valid strategy for the teachers permanent professional training in their workplace. El presente trabajo forma parte de uno de los capítulos de la Tesis de Maestría: “La socialización profesional de los docentes principiantes de educación básica de la ciudad de Viedma”. En la investigación se dirigió la mirada la docente principiante desde dos ángulos: 1)Para establecer dimensiones y características de este fenómeno en la ciudad de Viedma a la par que poder realizar algunas comparaciones con datos provinciales y nacionales. 2)Para comprender la socialización profesional tal como la perciben los propios actores. En este caso, el estudio estuvo centrado en escuchar las voces de los principiantes para dar cuenta de la manera en que se perciben a sí mismos, sus puntos de vista, sus temores; la interpretación que hacen de su trabajo y los trayectos reales que recorren en procura de su formación permanente. El presente trabajo expone los resultados obtenidos en relación a los agentes socializadores, en especial “la paralela”. Finalmente se propone repensar la relación de “paralelas” como estrategia válida de formación permanente del docente en el ámbito laboral.
